I went on the island with a lot of expectations… For that i chose Erick like a private guide. And i was bot disappointed ! With him i discoverded many of the Rapa Nui’s secrets ! I learned a lot ! I was about to fly back to Santiago and because of the weather I had not been able to go to the volcan I wanted to see where the statues are. Hours before my flight he took me there, we ran and I was just so happy I could see it before leaving the island. He definitely saved the day! Plus he’s really kind, friendly and speaks English perfectly. I’d call him straight up if I was to come back.

Eric was my expert Rapa Nui guide for the remote and challenging North Coast hike. This rarely visited part of the Island has hundreds of undisturbed archeological sites including Ahu, Moai, Boat Houses, hidden caves, petroglyphs and many other fascinating things. These are all in their original state as early explorers would have first seen them. The long 7-hour hike over a large area covers steep slopes, ravines, uneven terrain, rocks scattered everywhere and no trails. Eric’s knowledge, experience and expertise about this unique rarely visited part of the Island is unparalleled. During our hiking tour Eric even discovered a small hidden cave with archeological artifacts he had not seen before. We ended the hike at Anakena Beach where I went for a refreshing swim. Eric is most highly recommended for guiding you around Rapa Nui whether hiking or touring around the Island’s many remarkable sites. By the way, Eric is one of a very few Islanders who is a direct descendent from the last 110 surviving Rapanuis at the end of their 19th century horrific tragedy.

We had a wonderful day exploring some of the more remote coastline with Eric. This was exactly what I was looking for, several miles of stunning walking whilst Eric told us about the history of the island and the Moai. Coming in from Canada touring around South America, we only had a couple days on the island… We were lucky enough to have Eric for our guide Eric customized the perfect day for my group and I. My family and I spent six days in Rapa Nui this June, a place I have long wanted to visit. Needing an English speaking guide and unfamiliar with the landscape of tour operators operating there, we scheduled a number of tours through our hotel. We were very fortunate that the hotel contracted out its tours and for one day we had Annette as our tour guide. From the moment I first saw her I knew that she was going to be an exceptional guide. When you meet her you can feel her love for her home, her enthusiasm, and it is contagious. The hotel had not communicated to her which tour we were scheduled to go on; we told her what we had seen so far and said that we were open to doing whatever we hadn’t done, we also mentioned interest in the caves. She said she would observe us and then match the tour accordingly. She seemed happy that we were prepared, (we had head lamps), and when we got to one of the caves, she sensed the curiosity that my son had for the cave and the hesitation that I had. My husband and son took off their shoes and went with her, wading through the water, into the darkness, and deep into the cave, while I stayed by the water, enjoying the silence and peace. It was one of the most special and memorable experiences of our trip and when they came back my son was excited to have made it to the avocado tree, seeing the roots of the tree we had all observed from above. Had I known about Annette before I would have booked more tours through her. She made our visit so personal and special, and we are very grateful that we got to meet her
